Okay, to be quite honest, I didn't expect this to hit me as hard as it did, but there were weird coincidences that were scarily relevant to my own life and it might have struck me a little deeper than it would most people!

I found this comic through Prime reading. This is a heartwarming story about Yan, a 23 year old fighting social anxiety and depression, which I empathize with greatly. And on top of that, a main theme is turtles, and they are my favorite animal. So, that was a fun aspect. I shed so many tears through this. I am still sniffling and it's been five minutes since I read the ending. I think life showed me this when I needed it.đź’•

I loved that there was real recipes included! The characters are from different walks of life, each with their own struggles. It was enjoyable to begin to bond with the team with Yan.

A thoughtful, realistic, endearing story. I could tell that a lot of the thoughts of Yan, the main character, were autobiographical, and it felt a bit like peeking into a diary at times. I was touched by the conclusion and I liked the small but varied cast of characters, but I felt like maybe the pacing was a bit too quick at times for the plot. I would’ve liked the story to have time to breathe a bit between major events.

Read if you like found family and stories of trauma and overcoming obstacles.

Appreciate the honest depiction of anxiety and depression, and the chosen family vibes đź’—

Anyone else wondering who the guy standing with the Turtle Bread team is at the end? Geraint’s boyfriend?

Fitting with its theme, this book was very sweet. I quite liked the cute manga-style art which fit the tone of the book well, even when handling darker issues.
