This was a cute story, but I felt like something was missing. There was attraction, but there was no chemistry and it didn't feel like love.

Lovely story. The whole time reading I kept thinking what a great movie it would be! One of my absolute favourite YA books.

This contemporary young adult romance is rivals to lovers but make it country music stars. It’s cute and happy while showing some of the downsides of fame.

I'm clearly sappy but, if you put on a playlist of country love songs and don't find yourself crying then you've got problems a love story won't fix.

If you have to tell me every other page how much chemistry your main characters have, then your characters don't have chemistry. Show, don't tell. Moving on.
There was too much of this "I don't deserve you" BS. Just admit you're attracted to each other and make out. Or go to therapy and work through your problems and then get together. I don't care.
Jefferson is a terrible name. Indiana isn't as country as some of y'all think. (Erin Hahn, have you even visited?) Were the characters religious or not? Make up your minds.
The Southern Belles plotline was half assed and unsatisfactorily finished.
There was also a (worrying) amount of instances where the sentence sequencing "First, next, then, finally" were used. Overall, this writing felt a bit juvenile, and I couldn't really get a sense of who Erin Hahn is as an author through this book.
Too many loose ends
Redeeming qualities: it's short, it's sweet, it pays homage to country legends like J0hnny Cash and June Carter Cash, as well as Dolly Parton. The ending also redeemed itself by not having Annie and Jefferson get together and then Annie miraculously "cures" Jefferson of his alcoholism and trauma.

This book is about two polar opposite country artists coming together to go on tour. Annie is a recluse trying to heal from her past. Clay on the other hand is a somewhat famous superstar with a tendency for getting into trouble hence the reason for the tour. If the tour is not completed Clay will lose everything he's worked for. Overall, I don't know how I feel about this book. Prior to reading this book I was hoping for a light and fluffy read. Unfortunately for me the book was nothing close to light or fluffy at all. To me this book depicts the darker side of the music industry. I think the characters in this story had too much baggage for me to be truly invested in this book. This is my first time reading a book by Erin Hahn. I may give her other books a try because this one just is not it. The audiobook version annoyed me slightly due to the southern accents feeling overdone and forced.
