I love the ending to this short story. Unexpectedly gorgeous prose from Twain, and the lead-up to the last paragraph is fantastic. Still, I prefer Million-Pound Bank Note because of its more creative and unconventional ways that its character acquire wealth.

The title story, Adam & Eve stories, Telephonic Conversation & A Double-Barreled Detective Stories were my favorite in this collection. A Dog's Tale is wonderfully, horribly sad; good for a cry. "Does the Race of Man Love a Lord?" is a thought provoking essay about everyone's love of being near high-status people for which I stand guilty as charged.

I'm apparently not much of a fan of Mark Twain. I get bored by his witticisms and ramblings. Not always, but in this collection of stories... well, not my cup of tea.
