Such a unique and vivid narration; tragedy and humour are tucked in every sentence. The history nerd in me especially loved all the flashbacks to the wars.

I want to rescue this lost woman from what's going to happen to her (time).

Really enjoyed this one, I think Atkinson is slowly but surely climbing the list of authors who cannot have a miss with my reading preferences. A saga of 4 generations of women, and what history (big and small) writes over their lives.

I loved it! I have yet to be disappointed by Atkinson. It was really interesting to see how choices and circumstances affect people (and their offspring) down the line.

Vivid, haunting and wryly funny. I see Atkinson's style has divided reviewers but I loved it. Extremely poignant but it was the humour that made it readable and sympathetic and not a melodrama. Can't wait to read more of her work.

Good lord! What a slog! Outdated and slow. It had great potential and fell very, very short.
