picked up at the library on impulse because my name was on the cover. had no clue what was happening 90% of the time. i loove when stories start out with far-flung characters who come together and discover the beauty of humanity but the stories of these three never even crossed paths. wasn't a big fan of the art style and sorta got icky vibes from the fact that probably half the page time the women got they were naked... but hey it is called celeste! points for that!

I think if this just had been the story with the guy in the forest with the hellish creatures then it would have been more satisfying to me. Making it 3 stories and teasing a plot or a bigger arc but not delivering was disappointing.

This graphic novel is just plain beautiful. The story of an event in which most of the people on the earth instantly disappear follows the thread of three people in different parts of the world that remain. The story is pretty simple and there isn't a ton of dialogue, but enough for a plot in each of the threads of story line. And the art is stunningly gorgeous.

Ugh, this had the makings of a great graphic novel, but then it dropped the ball. The art is beautiful and shows a variety of settings. The story had great build up in the first half towards a really interesting reveal, but then nothing is explained.

The story follows three different people around the world who suddenly find themselves mostly alone. Interesting premise right? Well, yes it is. However, the sequence of events following do not seem connected. I didn’t feel any real connection with any of the three stories or their characters. It was just odd and ultimately not for me.

I really enjoyed everything presented, the art is beautiful and the characters intriguing. But I wanted more, and it was only as we learnt more about everyone that it suddenly comes to an end. Great stuff, but expect a brief thought, rather than a fleshed out story.

One minute Ray is talking to a policeman about his wife in LA, two commuters meet each other's eyes in a crowded underground in London and in Japan, comic artist Yoshi who has some to the Aokigahara Forest in Japan, fails to hang himself when suddenly there's no-one else around them. Ray is surrounded by cars, Aaron and Lilly talk about everything and nothing and it's very sweet and Yoshi is chased by demons.

It's an interesting read with characters who feel quite real.
