Dirty Cowboy wasn't really that dirty. Unless you count mud? With a title like this, I was hoping for something a bit more than what I actually got. In it, you will meet Gentry and Hope. They were kind of cute and were sort of getting their second chance at rekindling their romance. Yet, there was just something off about it all.

Doesn't help that Hope's ex was freakishly obsessive and somehow planning an imaginary wedding with her. Then there's Gentry, who I think was trying to be somewhat sexy with certain comments (or whatever) and ended up making me cringe. A for effort, I guess?

Other than that, I sort of like the romance but it felt like things were being rushed throughout the book. I wouldn't necessarily deem it insta-love just more like insta-book. Not sure if that makes sense but it's like it the fast forward button was stuck and the book was basically over.

The ending was kind of cute though, so that's a plus.

Dirty Cowboy by Erin Trejo is part of the Cocky Hero Club. It can be read as a stand alone and in any order.
I loved, loved, loved this book. It was fun to read and the banter between the main characters was really organic and funny. You could clearly feel the history between the main characters.
I love second chance romance novels. There is a different element that comes with already "knowing" the person that adds to the story.
I highly recommend.

Enjoy

Gentry and Hope have known each other since they were little. Gentry gets very unexpected news from home and has to go back there. That is where him and Hope run into each other again. Gentry is quite the character. Right from the start when these two meet again he is cocky and lets his mouth go with what his brain is thinking instead of keeping things to himself. But Hope doesn't let it affect her.
Gentry ends up making a very difficult decision and goes back home to help out his mom on the ranch. Hope ends up going back there running from her ex that cheated on her. But she really isn't the country girl at heart. Gentry has his own issues and doesn't know what to do about his life or Hope. Will these two be able to rekindle their friendship let alone see if things can go anywhere else between them?
This was an enjoyable storyline. I loved Gentry and Hope together. These two have some amazing chemistry and banter that you would not believe. I absolutely love the cockiness that Gentry has. You literally laugh out loud at half the things that he says. But that made the book more enjoyable. Another great addition to the cocky hero series and another great book from Erin.

I liked the end.

So a lot of this story was a bit too far fetched for me. I couldn’t really get into it until the major twist at the end.

Dirty Cowboy is another installment in the Cocky Hero Club collective of novels. It is the second of the Cocky books that I have read, and I find them entertaining. Dirty Cowboy was no exception; it as an enjoyable, quick read with an interesting storyline.

Gentry is the owner of some highly popular nightclubs all along the east coast. He and his father started them and kept low profiles as they did not want the focus on the clubs' owners but the clubs themselves. An unforeseen family tragedy calls Gentry back to the family ranch and forces him to make significant life decisions.

Hope is a writer that has come back to see Gentry's family and stays to do some work. Hope and Gentry have a history, which is part of the charm of the story as these two reconnect. There is some conflict, but the angst is minimal. There are many chuckles due to some snappy dialogue between Hope and Gentry and other characters. Add in some spiders, horses, and fainting goats, and this story becomes all the more entertaining. What we get is Hope and Gentry finding out where home is and how it is not dependent on locale. Dirty Cowboy ends up being a fun read and a great addition to the Cocky Hero series.

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.

Dirty Cowboy by Erin Trejo is a tangent of the Cocky Hero Club series. This is a quick read with great banter. Overall, I felt the entire book was rushed. The transitions from scene to scene inside the chapters were choppy and hard to follow.

Hope and Gentry are high school sweethearts who reconnect after several years apart. Gentry is hot cowboy who isn't afraid to mark his "territory." Hope is the good girl who's escaping romantic drama.

There are subplots within the book that if explored would have made it a much better read. As it is, it feels rushed and as the reader it sometimes felt like I was missing pieces of the story.

Save a horse and ride this cowboy

Hope couldn’t get off the ranch soon enough, leaving behind her first love, but in all the years after she left she never felt whole.

Gentry never got over his first love either, when a tragedy brings him home he realizes this is where he belongs. And when Hope comes home he knows what he needs to do.

This is a sweet, funny, sexy read that you can’t miss out on!

I've read a lot of books by this author and they are normally on the dark side, which i love, but this story wasn't lacking even though it was on the lighter side. Gentry was hilarious, constantly pushing hope's buttons. trying to make her see what was right in front of her and also what she left behind. Even though her life was in crisis, hope returned to her roots to seek solace from the people and place she knew she could regroup. Amazing book and was a change from the normal.
