I liked this book and seeing more of Perry’s tribe and how they manage to survive in unideal situations. Perry and Aria are separated on different missions for about half of the book, and even when they are together for the most part they’re pretending to just be allies because the Tides don’t trust Dwellers. I honestly think it’s more realistic because normally in chaotic, disastrous situations romance is not the central focus of a person’s mind. I’m very interested to see what will become of everyone in the final book.

My favorite quote that I feel like describes the themes of this book perfectly: “Then he told Perry that love was like the waves in the sea, gentle and good sometimes, rough and terrible at others, but that it was endless and stronger than the sky and the earth and everything in between.”(290)

It was slow. Perry was a pain the ass with his new role.
He can sense emotion but still doubt Arya. Big oof man.

At least, Arya was trying to do something. The relationship between Arya and Roar was very loving. It was really sad though.
what happened to Liv… I wished we could have seen more of this character

Like probably most of the second book of a trilogy, it was not the best. It was pretty slow. Perry was boff. Arya was trying. Roar was intense. The plot was okay. I understood it but like it was really slow for something as “easy/simple” to do.
