This book has the same information and points for success that I have come to find in my own journey..., they just put it together and have scripture to back it up. I love that he said that different 'diets' like paleo, vegan, etc. work for certain people, I have said that myself for years.

Well, we all want to eat better, lose weight, get healthier, etc. Problem is that motivation is sometimes low. Before there was a Daniel Plan, the idea worked for me to incorporate the spiritual in my struggle. After all, God gave me a body, and if I spend all my time abusing it and hating it, that takes up a lot of mental real estate that I could be using to do great things for Him! Right? Daniel Plan makes this model comprehensive. Getting healthy is a matter of worship, because God created and gave you a specific body and He likes it when we respect and take care of the gifts we've been given. So it's an eating and exercise plan, but also incorporating faith and how to work with your thoughts as well. Great inspirational read.

If you have read lots of diet books before then this may not add too much to your knowledge.
The biblical refrences are helpful and there is a good amount of inspirational discussion about setting goals and thinking about purpose and intentionality. I think if I'd known nothing and was in a position to follow this to the letter I may have scored it higher.

However, the exercise and diet plan supplied is too rigid for me and will not fit my lifestyle and family commitments. But there are lots of principles I can adapt.

If you are able to follow meal plans and form a support group this may be very good for you.

I am now thinking about how I can start to make small changes every month.

Just a nit-picky point that some christians may find relevant: the book mentions 2-3 times martial arts as acceptable exercise. I know that many Neil Anderson books warn against martial arts as spiritual dangers. Just a difference of opinions and beliefs that in no way detracts from the christian and health messages of the book but worth a mention.

Everyone should read this book!
One warning: The book incorrectly tells the reader how to become a Christian. In order to become a Christian, one must follow the plan of salvation: Hear the Word (Romans 10:17), Believe (Acts 16:31), Repent (Acts 17:30), Confess (Acts 8:37), Be Immersed for the Remission of Sins (Acts 2:38) and Live Faithfully (Acts 14:22). Otherwise....it's an awesome book!

If you are just starting your health and fitness journey this is the book for you. When I tell you, the writers of these book gently hold your hands and show you exactly how to make the change. They give you a breakdown of health plans, grocery list, exercise plan, travel plan.... everything you can think of healthwise is covered in this book. This might just be the most comprehensive health plan/ lifestyle change plan I have ever seen or read. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who are just starting their health journey, even for those who are in the middle of it, it is a great refresher.

I love that the Daniel Plan takes into focusing putting God as the base of your change, too often as Rick Warren says, we depend on willpower to make this journey- will power will last 2-3 weeks, we need God's power to go through this for a life time. So the faith aspect that is included is also a big focus and something for everyone to take into consideration.

A great tool for those who want to remain healthy.

While I don't agree with the food choices 100%, I would 100% support anyone using this plan to get healthier. There are a few things I could stand to incorporate into my life in the faith and focus sections.
