Shifters 2040 is a fresh new spin on an old story. In the 3rd book of the Shifter Saga we see Humans and shifters 15 years into a war. We discovered the alien race we named the shifters. Ruled by fear of the unknown, we waged war against the alien species that invaded our planet.

In a desire to defeat our enemies, we sought to learn all we could about the shifters. We experimented to learn their secrets. But with all things fueled by fear, the experimentation went too far. Leading to the question can humanity be humane?

I don't know the answer, but I enjoyed Shifters 2040 spin on the age old question. Filled with characters that were very likeable and very un-likeable. Yes, there were a lot of characters but each had their own personality so they could be easily identified. Ami Blackwelder sent me on a roller coaster of emotions. The story was evenly paced, with enough description that I became involved with the story. This book was definitely worth the read.

I found this to be a compelling read. The story line is exciting and contains many elements to make it believable. There is love and romance in the book as well as jealousy, power induced madness and action.
As this is book 3 you can choose to go forward or backward in this series. I have to know what happens to the children. I am unbelievably invested in them. I will probably go all the way to the final book before returning to the beginning.
