Meh - this is definitely not for me - the cliche detective, which is why so many love this I guess, just does not translate well for me. Maybe if I grew up on hard-boiled Sam Spade types, but this guy just seems like every other carbon copy cutout of a good cop with bad habits and no friends. Bored, so I quit.

Excellent collection of the first three Harry Bosch novels. I am going to read the whole series. Excellent story-telling! I had trouble putting this down.

Excellent books. I wish I had not waited so long to continue the Harry Bosch series!

I wasn't too keen on the Terry McCaleb character, but some of the interactions with Bosche was good. It was an interesting merger, from the sense of neither character was the lead in the book. I liked the contrast in the characters and their styles. What was weird was having seen this story play out as a TV series earlier this year, I enjoyed how the characters were similar and how the TV took some liberties and also missed some simple areas that made for a fun and fast read.

Three more great Harry Bosch novels! I've been reading this collection at night since it's a giant hardcover book that I can't take on the train. Last night I stayed up too late to finish the last novel, Angels Flight...I just couldn't go to sleep not knowing how it ended.

I really enjoy the way that Michael Connelly writes and, again, I love the Harry Bosch series. I'm really glad that I went back to the beginning of the series...it's amazing how much history exists between so many of the characters. I've enjoyed all of the books in the series but I feel that I have a better appreciation for the later novels now.

Another brilliant instalment in the Harry Bosch series plus finishing the Terry McCaleb series. I Guly recommend reading [b:Blood Work|32504|Blood Work (Terry McCaleb, #1)|Michael Connelly|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1442528004s/32504.jpg|1473598] first.

I think the concrete blonde was one of the best books I have read in such a long time. it kept you guessing until the end and it was nice to revisit the past and how Bosch got to be in the Hollywood division as mentioned in the first two books! looking forward to reading the next one!!!

This one was tricky. I had the right 'wrong' guy for most of the book, and the actual guy was on my list too, but I couldn't get the details right. (I only read The Concrete Blonde in this volume, having read the others previously).
