For all the immature things Reese did or thought in the first book, holy crap did she change in just a few years. I don’t want to spoil too much of what happens to all the characters in this second but the strength that Reese had through all of it really impressed me - I know I would not have been that understanding in the same situation. Fisher did grow on me a little more in this book, as he became a little less aloof, although I still wanted to shake him at times - for Reese’s sake. And Reese’s growth when it came to her relationship with religion was something that I appreciated reading and could absolutely respect. I’m glad to have pushed through the first book to read this one, because it was such a great read.

Normally I hate the amnesia trope… but for some reason, I enjoyed this one. With how their relationship ended in the first book, I see how Reese feels as though it’s a second chance for them.

In my opinion, the best part of this novel was the way that you are duped into thinking Reese is the “bad guy” for almost the entirety of the novel. The story almost forces you to feel bad for the fiancée. Until, you get to near the end when you learn the truth. Man… I maybe could’ve predicted that but definitely didn’t.

I felt anxious much of the time I was reading this, and as a result I skimmed parts.

not as good as the first one, probably just liked it because i knew the characters. more trashy romance. kinda hates reese for half of this book. didn’t really like the plot. some good parts. some painful ones (in a cringe way).
