The art is definitely what shines mort about this. I wasn’t a fan of Michael Shelfer’s style at first, but by the end I find it fits perfectly, especially in the dramatic, bloody scenes (also, eternal kudos to whoever designed Duncan Idaho in this; it’s *exactly* how I always imagined him).

The story is pretty good. I’ve yet to read the original novel form, but the plot is easy to follow and the characters are all unique and interesting. My one complaint is a staple of most Dune prequels, unfortunately: there are so many POVs you can get easily lost in the overarching plot.

Overall, a great read if you like Dune or looking at really well done comic art. Maybe not the best choice for someone with no Dune experience.
