If you like steamy then this book has a lot of that. If you want plot or character development this book has very little of that. At some moments I was engaged but that was because I was curious about the vampire world-how they were made and what they can and cannot do. But the characters were all really boring. I hate insta love and this book has it. I will say I do enjoy the diversity of the characters in terms of race and ethnicity but again they all felt a little too cliche.

Better Off Red, the first volume in the new Vampire Sorority Sisters series, starts simply, almost predictably, with a pair of roommates pledging the hottest sororities.

Except, of course, Ginger really has no interest in pledging, and is only doing so to appease her roommate . . . and keep her ignorant of Ginger’s sexuality. Except, of course, the sorority that so draws their attention seems to have a few secrets . . . such as how an empty table has managed to have so many people sign the pledge sheet? Except, of course, Ginger can’t even get through the simple act of signing a pledge sheet without a call from her mom . . . and a ‘helpful’ chat with her brother.

The initiation into the sorority is so very well done, introducing just a little eroticism, and then keeping us on edge, playing out the suspense while building more than a little fear, that I found myself breathlessly turning pages. Standing before the queen the pledges have no choice but to confess their innermost desires for other women . . . and she is only too delighted to help see them realised. That, right there, is what converted me from a hopeful reader to an expectant one. I loved the fact that Rebekah managed to establish so much of Ginger’s character so early, and to weave so many other layers into the tale. I wasn’t expecting to have so much of the sorority (and its queen) exposed so early on, but I loved the mythology she created.

I was equally surprised to find the story developing into a passionate romance. Ginger’s relationship with Camila was not at all what I expected, but precisely what I had (in retrospect) hoped for. I fell in love with Ginger early on, and so wanted to see her thrive. She’s a high-strung, smart-ass, vulnerable young woman who portrays a façade of perfect confidence. She literally leaps off the page, taking on a personality that seems to stretch beyond the story itself. A large part of my anxiety when reading was fear for her, fear that she’d be destroyed by her vampire seductress, but Rebekah betrays the genre clichés again, and takes the story in a far more interesting direction.

Almost the very definition of a paranormal romance, this is a book that exceeded my expectations, and fulfilled my hopes. It’s well-written, incredibly sexy, and as full of emotional satisfaction as it is physical. I wouldn't dream of spoiling the ending, but I will say this - it literally had me throwing my hands in the air, squealing with girlish glee, at the wonder of it all.

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for whatever she has to offer next, and anxiously awaiting the next chapter of the Vampire Sorority Sisters

maybe I just have to get used to this kind of book because there's some things that pissed me off a little but it was a good read. i loved camila and panicked when dalhem talked about punishment. and guess what I loved the sorority thing way more than I thought I would. ginger is a good mc and kept me entertained and interessed. I'll probably read the next books because I already miss this sister-queen shit.

Saw this on Bookriot and couldn't not read it because, well, vampire sorority sisters. I know I shouldn't expect much plot from the romance/erotica genre, but I wanted a bit more in the way of conflict. It seems like any conflict that was there was chucked out just to have something other than pure romance scenes and then just as quickly resolved so we could get back to the uh, action. Also not so much a fan of the insta-love going on here. But it was a pretty fun read otherwise.

The book is.... okay. The erotica was fantastic but I would say the plot was quite dull and the characterisation fell flat most times. None of them were really developed well, or just seemed to have similar personalties (in the case of the side characters). Even the main two women only are there for the relationship, you barely feel what they are like as people, hence, you might not be a big supporter/ shipper of their relationship. The sex scenes are short and not that long, so if you want to read the book for that purpose, do what you will with that information. Otherwise.... okay? I guess. I wouldn’t lose a breath for this book in a good way, that’s what I’m trying to say

I'm not usually one for vampire stories, but I also didn't think I'd be into the male nanny trope and Rebekah Weatherspoon convinced me otherwise (see [b:Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny|41712479|Rafe A Buff Male Nanny (Loose Ends #1)|Rebekah Weatherspoon|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1536086084s/41712479.jpg|65058784]), so I decided, what the heck, I'll give vampire sorority sisters a chance. And credit where credit is due: the plot surprised me a couple of times, and the politics and power dynamics between all the undead ladies were more layered and complex than I expected. It's also smoking hot, and the physical connection between Camila and Ginger is central to the story. I will say, having read some of Weatherspoon's other books, this one is her first novel and she's definitely honed her craft since it was published.

Disappointing love story but the vampire stuff was somewhat interesting. I did not feel any real connection between the leads other than the sexual attraction. I usually live an I sat love story but with this 18 year old it all felt over childish and it still didn't feel like a strong connection when they got to know each other more. The last 25% of the story was great though so that is why this wasn't a complete waste lol. For most writers I would not have finished this.
