This one was cute!! I definitely want to re-read it physically because while I did enjoy the audiobook, there were times my ADHD took over and I zoned out... but all in all, very cute and very easy, quick read!

Girl, what?????

Enough with the very tired damsel-in-distress trope. Enough with the “longtime rivals” trope, especially considering that is far from the truth in this novella. Enough with the “massive man, tiny baby girl” trope. I found myself skimming the pages, hoping for any semblance of a unique plot.

Ian was cute. Likable, even. But the lack of chemistry between him and Hannah from the beginning was… ugh (again, it’s a novella so, yes it’s hard to establish but maybe don’t have them awkwardly make out upon first meeting??)

I give up. Idk what else to say. Very mediocre.

ooh, i quite like this one. below zero is def an improvement from novella #2,  w/ leads who have chemistry and some solid backstory.

hannah and ian's chemistry feels true and believable despite their initial brief time tgt; idk what it is, it just works somehow. also, it's been a long time since i relate to a character so much. despite the novella's short length, hazelwood manages to juggle both the romance and science, sometimes perfectly tgt. i like how science and the main leads' jobs feel like a natural part of the story, not shoehorned in just for the series title's sake.

it does get a bit tiring and repetitive reading abt how huge the male lead once again is, but hey at least the man's nice (is that a low bar?). anyways hazelwood's writing also flows easily here and it's a quick, enjoyable read.
