Still good, but less so than the second one for me. This got really dark for something that has a YA audience. Some of the content was really disturbing and hard to read, maybe just not my cup of tea. A lot more war and gore.

This one took a while for me to get through. I hated seeing Murtagh as a ‘bad guy’ and I’m ready for Galbatorix to get got.

About the same pace as the previous book, Eldest, but Brisingr was definitely more character-focused.

Eragon does a lot of learning in this book. He grows up more than he did in Eldest, and I was glad to see him becoming more adult and growing into his own power as well.

Some of the series' biggest reveals are in these pages.

Overall, another great installment to The Inheritance Cycle!

I have decided that this series is just not for me. I abandoned it in my childhood into Eldest. I tried to pick it up a second time and finished eldest but did not continue. I started a reread of this series in 2022 and after 50% of the way through I just stopped.

Love the lore and world building and I love people like this book. The prose is not for me and the characters are not engaging to me. Eragon is a Fitzchivelry that never gets better for me.
