This series has a great concept, and wonderful art by Olivier Coipel. But the plot of issues 1-3 is too weak to carry the new team. Another enemy that is supposedly beyond any ever faced before that gets dispatched in two pages
without any negative consequences as the sacrificed character doesn’t even die
. I enjoyed seeing Jubilee again and I thought the story started out well - nice to have the school students involved as well - but concluded poorly.

The fourth issue was strange - the main story of Jubilee revisiting her childhood was touching, though I wasn’t a fan of the clean-cut PG rated Wolverine who accompanied her for no real reason. But the B-plot “argument” between Storm and Rachel felt very forced. Including Jubilee’s first issue in the book was a fun historical curiosity but it’s also difficult to read nowadays - a special X Men issue where all the ladies kick back and go shopping? Really?

I will read the rest of this series as I love the idea and I love the characters. But it will need better plots soon if it’s going to do the characters justice.

Starts off great with lots of drama and tension before the whole problem resolves itself.

A bonus star for the inclusion of a reference to the first appearance of Jubilee, which is included.

I was excited for this book since the title was first announced three years ago. An all-woman X-Men team, and written by Brian Wood (whom I had mostly come to like via his DMZ comic)? Yes please!

After waiting months for it to arrive thanks to Inter Library Loan, I picked it up today, pedaled home excitedly, and it turned out to only be four issues, and nothing particularly interesting or novel at that. Four measly issues for a trade paperback?! Seriously, Marvel?!!? They padded the end by reprinting Jubilee's first appearance, which has not aged well, even for someone with plenty of nostalgia for the late '80s/early '90s.

I won't be trying very hard to track down subsequent volumes of this title, and I'm pretty sure it fizzled out due to low sales anyway. Bleh.

Pretty sweet! Thoughts on individual issues: one, two, three and four.

Lots of Jubilee, and it’s Shogo’s introduction, and he’s continued to be pretty important. Enjoyable!

Kind of the opposite problem of the new Deadpool, which is full of character but little plot, this had tons of story stuffed in and not many chances for characters to really distinguish themselves. That said, the story they've set up is really interesting and will make a great arc.

I didn't think I'd enjoy a series run that focused so much on Jubilee, but I found this fantastic. I love the concept of the all girl. The art is wonderful and that baby is just so gosh darn cute.

Rachel Grey is annoying, but I like this comic.
