Heart-breaking, gut-wrenching, truly a tear-jerker, but how I loved these "bloodydamn" books! Honestly, one of the best trilogies I have ever read, no doubt. I can't wait for Iron Son.

Book three and still don’t like Darrow. There’s a lack of tension in the book because even when things are bad you know Darrow will be OK. I never worried about the 3 main characters. There’s still some level of mystery not knowing how the characters will get to the resolution.

I was really looking forward to Morning Star as Golden Son was a five star read for me. I found the beginning of the book to be incredibly engaging, the middle to be too slow and drift from the main plot, and the end was phenomenal. It felt like the whole book could be a lot shorter and still hit the same plot and emotional points.
Sevro is one of my favorite characters and the twist in his story had me raging. I never grew to like Mustang, even in the end. I just found her to be untrustworthy. Darrow has grown up a lot from the first book, but still makes questionable decisions. One untrustworthy character had a great arch that left me feeling like things had finally come full circle.
Overall, I felt like all the characters had a very good arch or end to their story. I know this was original trilogy, and certainly felt like the bow was added to the present and the story was meant to end here. Which makes me both interested but I also have my reservations on how the story continues. I look forward to finding out.
