My 8yo son and I started this book together; however, it didn't hold his interest as he thought it was a bit boring in the beginning. (We read up to chapter 5.) I finished the book and thought it was ok. It seemed a bit reminiscent of The Magic Treehouse books. I told my son this book gets better and to give it another chance. If you have a child who likes history and adventure books, this would be a good fit.

I received this book for free from the author/publisher from a Goodreads Giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity.

Fun middle reader, reminds me of the Magic Tree House. It gets straight to the point so there isn’t a lot of filler. My 10 and 11 year old both enjoyed it, and excited about sequels.
