This book is hella funny. I legit laughed out loud. The Bodega Boys are so smart and understand their audience and brand so well. I’m not wild about these types of books because the get redundant. It’s very good for what it is.

God Level Knowledge Darts may have a self-help and how-to veneer, but it’s really a memoir about two approaching middle age guys who pathologically keep it real trying to continue to keep it real in modern times with modern social rules. I doubt anyone reading this book is completely ignorant of Desus & Mero’s various media forays, and this fits in nicely with the brand. No bitching and complaining about pronouns or genders like so many of their peers do. They roll with society’s changes instead of fighting them, because, simply enough, they are cool people. And this book shares some of the stories from their lives that helped form them into cool people.

I’ve learned from this book that I am most definitely “washed” and am really happy about that. Aging for people born in the 80s forward is such a different experience than it was for previous generations. I welcome being washed, and would rather figure out excuses to stay home and fuck around with my hobbies rather than hit the town on a Friday night. It fills me with joy that Desus & Mero also celebrate being washed.

Anyway, this book is written for their fans, and I imagine if you are reading this review you are also in the bodega hive. Like always, Desus & Mero’s hearts are in the right place (US healthcare and cops are bullshit), and they tell you about it in the most hilarious of ways (ALL CAPS).

Sucks they broke up their creative partnership, but at least we have this book.

- God-Level Knowledge Darts: Life Lessons from the Bronx is a hilarious book by Desus & Mero, TV and podcast personalities from the hit “Bodega Boys Podcast.” An audiobook that felt like a podcast, with advice that will make you laugh. 3.5/5 stars

I could hear every single word in their voices and that made reading this book even more rad.

This book was suggested to me because I enjoyed Ali Wongs books.
The first lesson I learned was, if a book (Book B) is sent to you, based on your liking another book (Book A), don't assume "Book B" will be anything like "Book A"

I caught onto this one pretty quick, and once I got over my initial "What is this" I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I have never heard of these authors, so I really did not know what I was getting into (Hence the "What is this" feeling) After reading the first couple of pages, I assumed this would be straight nonsense, but get ready for some insight and relate-ability in almost every chapter
Enjoyable and funny,

y’all i was hoping this book would be more of a back and forth between them, but there really wasn’t a connect at all. maybe a few times, but it was like they never talked about what they wanted to speak on together. i feel like instead of mending my heart after their break up, it only made it hurt more because they sound so separated in this already. :(

Desus & Mero have full-stop been one of the few things keeping me moderately sane and laughing until my sides hurt and tears roll down my face in quarantine. The show reminded me of everything I love about being from and still living in NYC, and this book is an extension of that. It's funny, sharp, and also in spots, even a little emotional. Bodega Hive members, do not miss.
