2.5 rounded down. This book is a real bummer. The stories want to be profound in their mundanity but most miss the mark for me. I read another Tomine and loved it but this one did not hit for me. I think I’ll come back cause I love the art, but “serious” graphic novels don’t have to be this dark or pretentious.

These 'comics' are subtle short stories about relationships recast in graphic-novel form. Is there a genre name for this?

None of the stories or the art really resonated with me, but I am not really the target audience
