رادويس الجزء الثاني من ثلاثية مصر القديمة المنفصلة لنجيب محفوظ
الشخصيات 2/5 الشخصيات عادية جدًا مفيش شخصية واحده نقدر نقول عليها جديدة او ابداعية الملك المفتون، الجمال الفاتن، قائد الجند الخائن، رئيس الوزراء الصديق الأمين، الكاهن الداهية شخصيات كلها عادية لدرجة اني حسيت اني بقرأ انطونيو و كليوبترا الجزء الثاني بالرغم من ان قصة رادوبيس أقدم تاريخيًا
ما بال مصر لا تنعم بقصة حب بدون موت الحبيب و انتحار الآخر ؟
الحبكة 2/5 الأحداث متوقعة جدًا و طبعًا ده مش عيب من نجيب محفوظ و لكن عيب التاريخ القصة اتهرت فعلًا و بالرغم من اني مبسوط اني عرفتها الا انها قصة مكررة علي مر التاريخ بأشكال مختلفه.
الأسلوب 2/5 انا قلت أكثر من مرة لا أحب الأسلوب المسرحي في رواية بيخليني احس ان الكاتب بيأفور
أهمية الحدث التاريخي 3/5 أنا كان نفسي الحقيقة اقرا تاريخ الفراعنة كله علي هيئة روايات بس بعيد عن نجيب محفوظ الراجل ده كان لازم ياخذ المسار المختلف 180 درجة ده عشان يوصل لنجيب نوبل اللي كلنا بنحب رواياته و مجموعاته القصصية
النهاية 1/5 نهاية متوقعة جدًا و برضه مش ذنب الكاتب لأن القصة مبنية علي أحداث تاريخية
تعالوا معايا بقي نعمل زووم علي حاجة لم نشهد نهايتها في القصة الكهنة الذين اوعزوا للشعب بالثورة لم يمت منهم شخص واحد فقط.
لقد كانوا يشاهدون كل شئ يحدث و سيجنون وحدهم ثمار هذه الثورة و الشعب لا شئ كعادة شعب مصر بالثورات
كنت متخيل شكل الكهنة زي شكل كهنة مسلسل النبي يوسف الإيراني.
جاتلي فكرة جميلة عمومًا ان بعد ما اخلص هذه الثلاثية، هقرأ عمل رائع من أعمال محفوظ عشان متكنش الثلاثية آخر ذكري ليا مع الكاتب.

عمل جميل بالنسبة لكونه ثاني اعمال نجيب محفوظ بعد عبث الأقدار وان كان به ضعف في بعض نواحي القصة من وجة نظري البسيطه

ما أجملك.. ما أفتنك.. كلما عدت من سفر طويل وجدتك أجمل و أفتن مما تركتك، و كأني بالزمان و لا عمل له إلا السمو بحسنك الفاتن.

I preferred the first one a tad more than this one. Despite the setting, the 2 novels were not related and even the writing styles were different. I generally don't enjoy tragic love stories and neither guy or gal were likeable, especially as the pharoh was cheating on his wife, Nitcrocis, who was the best (and only) likeable character.

واو روعة الإبداع رادوبيس، طاهو، منروع الثاني و عظمة الملكة نيتوقريس. كيف كان الحواء التي قضت على مجد الملك كيف الغرور و الغضب دمر الحكمة. من خلي من النقاش و ضاع في سحر الهوي غابت الحكمة و العقل عنه. كما يقال في الأمثال مرأة الحب عمياء.

Rhadopis of Nubia is the second book in The Egyptian Trilogy by Naguib Mahfouz. It is a love story between the King of Egypt, Pharaoh Merenra II, and a very gorgeous courtesan, Rhadopis. It is about the love between different classes, politics, and uprising. The amusing thing with this book which was first published in 1943 is that it still reflects all the politics of modern Egypt today despite being about the ancient times of Egypt.
The story can be read as a standalone. The only similarity between it and the previous book is that both stories take place in ancient Egypt. It was fascinating to read about the people’s uprising against their king when he spent tons of gold to construct the courtesan’s palace. The Queen was another interesting character to read about. Her confrontation with Rhadopis was edgy and intriguing. This was a simple and entertaining read. Some readers say that this is similar to Cinderella’s story but it is a completely different story. Absolutely has nothing to do with Cinderella.

What do you get when a Nobel laureate writes a romance? Passages so sensual, and not just about the lovers. But the descriptions of the Nile, of the people and the sounds... It's like having a moving painting in your mind.
It's Cinderella mixed with Antony and Cleopatra. Part fairy-tale, part epic. 100% sheer, majestic triumph.
Moral lesson? Duty must come before desire. Rhadopis is up there with Helen and other beautiful women of literature whose beauty brings about the fall of a ruler, and by extension, an empire.

Nell'antico Egitto il giovane ed impetuoso faraone Merenre II e la bellissima cortigiana Rhadopis si innamorano perdutamente: un sentimento travolgente e totalizzante che li inebrierà a tal punto da far dimenticare al sovrano qualunque responsabilità nei confronti del suo regno, li renderà ciechi di fronte alla crescente ostilità che li circonda e li condurrà in breve tempo alla rovina. Questa è in poche parole la trama del romanzo, piuttosto semplice perchè il vero punto di forza è l'atmosfera: ogni scena è intrisa di sensualità, da ogni descrizione traspaiono l'opulenza e la magnificenza della millenaria cultura egizia. E' un libro di passioni e non parlo solo di quella bruciante fra i protagonisti: ogni altro personaggio ama profondamente e in maniera quasi sempre tragica e fatalista. Questo però non deve lasciar pensare che sia soltanto un romanzo sentimentale, anzi la relazione fra i due amanti si sviluppa talmente in fretta che non abbiamo neanche modo di appassionarcene, ed assume interesse solo in quanto allegoria del potere distruttivo del desiderio. I due giovani si smarriscono nel loro amore cieco ed egoista tanto da perdere ogni contatto con la realtà e nemmeno nel momento cruciale saranno capaci di elevarsi al di sopra della passione terrena che li ha soggiogati.
Lo stile è elaborato e ricco di descrizioni, ma resta comunque scorrevole. L'unico difetto che mi sentirei di trovargli è l'eccessiva brevita, che secondo me non ha permesso di sviluppare appieno né le tematiche nè la psicologia dei personaggi. L'impressione che resta è che benché sia un'opera molto intensa si tratti più di una fiaba tragica (per quanto affascinante) che di un romanzo vero e proprio.
Lo stile è elaborato e ricco di descrizioni, ma resta comunque scorrevole. L'unico difetto che mi sentirei di trovargli è l'eccessiva brevita, che secondo me non ha permesso di sviluppare appieno né le tematiche nè la psicologia dei personaggi. L'impressione che resta è che benché sia un'opera molto intensa si tratti più di una fiaba tragica (per quanto affascinante) che di un romanzo vero e proprio.
