I think I got more personality out of these characters in twenty-six pages than I did in the entirety of "Wilder Girls." It was blatantly obvious from the get-go of this story that Byatt was a manipulative monster, something that took me a long time to realize in "Wilder Girls." I also loved how this story was in Reese's perspective and we really got to learn some of the dirt of her past. During "Wilder Girls," you can tell that she has been through some serious stuff, but nothing was truly revealed, so I really appreciate the lore drop on Reese. The fact that I feel like I finally understand Hetty, Byatt, and Reese as characters because I read this short story even though I endured through the entire novel is a bit sad, but I'm glad this story exists to clear things up.

Overall, this short was an enjoyable read that showed a slice of these girl's lives before their bodies were claimed by a deadly disease and their world's turned into a living hell.
