I finished it like 10-15 minutes ago, and I have feelings (too many to give a proper star-rating yet)

You know what, maybe I did enjoy this series. Maybe I’m just a sucker for a happy ending

“The nature of the world is that when we create something, we often destroy something else in the process.”
Holy moly, that ending... I have to digest that first.
Without giving too much away, I liked this one much more than the second book! I love the magic system of this series and the third book delved into that so much more. It's amazing to see that Sanderson created a world that is so well thought-out and elaborate. I really feel like he's been planning the entire plot from the very beginning. All the pieces finally come together perfectly and reading that was such a satisfying experience. And the antagonist of this series is so intriguing and original. I absolutely adore stories with unusual antagnoists, such as
However, while this last installment was a lot more action-packed than its predecessors, I still think the pacing was a little bit slow at times. And even though I do like several of the characters (TenSoon, most of all, but also Elend, Vin, Sazed, Spook - okay I like pretty much all of the protagonists), I didn't get to know any of them well enough to feel truly passionate about any of them. I don't think that was Sanderson's attempt anyway, as this feels like it's a very plot-focused series, but I just need to simp for at least one character in a story in order to really love it. And some character, it seemed, were just forgotten halfway through the book. What happened to Cett, for example?
All in all, this is a very original and imaginative series and I definitely get why people say this is a must-read for fans of high-fantasy. I, for one, am very glad that I've finally picked it up and will recommend it to anyone who wants to dive into an epic fantasy saga with a deliciously well thought-out magic system.
