I loved this book as a kid and was very sad that the sequel never came out. Re-read it recently and it's basically Mean Girls: The Graphic Novel, which is fine except that it's just a little too short. It was a fun trip down memory lane.

Cute story, but really young. I guess I should have known by looking at the publisher. Still, it was fun to read and I'd probably not freak out if my kid read it.

Most teens dread the idea of moving and starting a new school. Haley, on the other hand, sees it as an opportunity become queen of the hive. But what happens when another new girl attempts to dethrone Haley?

I'm not usually a fan of comic books. I picked this up out of the desire to include a girl comic on a reading list for my library. I've had minimal exposure to comics, but that's simply because I have not found them appealing. With this in mind, Queen Bee is a good introductory book for those new to reading comics (this is not to steer comic book lovers away, just if someone is looking to foray into comic-land this is a good place to start). It's easy to follow in terms of how the "action" moves.

It's very girlie--clothes, make-up, mega rivalry--it's all there. Oh yeah, and Haley has powers that she has to learn to control. It's well done and interesting, and in true comic form, there are more to come.
