Also felt more like the plot was a vehicle for the prince character to flirt/fuck/sexualize the other party members.
The other characters are great, but the prince doesn't seem to add much. Good first entry though, and good bones to build on.

A queer prince joining an adventuring party sounded right up my alley, and it fulfilled my expectations. Sexy semi-nude prince from page 1 what's not to love?
I need more from this world and these characters. Kendra Wells seems to be setting up a bigger story for them.

Fun, colorful high fantasy adventure. All the characters are well-developed and make the story enjoyable. This is not reliant on plot, it's just a nice found-family situation in which most of the core characters have an opportunity to learn about themselves and their fellow party members. Hocus was definitely one of my favorite characters, so I wish e got more time to be at the forefront of the story. Overall, I enjoyed it and will be recommending it for purchase at my library (we need more adult graphics that aren't Marvel).
