Feluda was originally written by Satyajit Ray for the children’s magazine ‘Sandesh’. The popularity of the series was such that Ray went on to include a few adult themes in the later stories when he realized that even adults were enjoying the series.
I actually read Feluda before Agatha Christie and as such Feluda was my introduction to detective fiction. The best part of the stories is the evergreen manner of Ray’s narrative. I remember reading ‘Baadhshahi Angti’ which was written in 1960s and when I visited Lucknow in 1990s, I could still recognize the places described in the book. The other thing that I loved about the series was that in every story we learned something new – be it about geometry or about telepathy.
Absolutely and irrevocably in love with Feluda and his adventures – forever a fan.

It was pretty cool to read...
I still like Topshe more than Feluda...
1 star because i did not like bonobihari babu's reason for the revenge...it was pretty flat...

The Emperor's Ring
Second story of Feluda
By Satyajit Ray
.
Here Feluda comes to Lucknow along with his favourite cousin Topshe
And along with them mystery arrives in Lucknow.
This is some 60 pages story and Definitely readable in couple of hrs.
And within those 60 pages
There is great suspense building up
Of course I couldn't guess the killer
And
I can say Feluda is really smart
And is very talented too..
He has so many hidden talents
Which is no surprise
(Coz what I have seen is Bengali people are very talented and not just in one field..
For that I many times wish I was Bengali 🤭)
.
Also Topshe makes a Good narrator..
Relatives and India are pretty Synonymous ..
And our life is Incomplete without our cousins..😜
Feluda's relationship with his cousin is so relatable..
Kicking his leg in every way possible 🤣
Is what we elder cousins do 🤭
It's really fun to see them together..
.
Don't forget Lucknow
The visits to Bhoolbhulaiya and the Residency
Were mesmerising as well as Thrilling.
The mention of Lucknow's Sweets
"Sandile ka laddoo" and "Gulabi reori"
Also "Bhoona pera"
Got me so hungry that I had to add one more star 😜
Yes it was total 5 star read for me..
.
I am really enjoying reading these mystries based in India..
I am just loving it..
.
And to know that Satyajit Ray wrote these for children and so it doesn't have any adult content makes it more interesting ..
Coz whatever mystery we read these days are all filled with ..you know what
(I won't elaborate on that part)
..
I will say you can read these mystries as light reading.
Coz you won't find and disturbing content in it (as I said these were ment for children)
And Even after being for children
It is equally entertaining for Adults too.
.
Feluda has many innumerable talents
And one of that is winning our hearts ❤️
