I was terrified of reading this book because I thought it would wreck me. Sadly, it didn't. Two scenes near the end (one involving Sam's little brother James and the other Sam's message to Julie) choked me up a bit. However, no tears. I felt that this book may be better as a movie since it tries to give visuals between Julie's memories, her dreams and nightmares, her talks with Sam, and her real life. However, the different visuals feel disjointed. One moment Julie is talking with Sam, then she is dreaming? It's very unclear sometimes what you are dealing with (dream, memory, phone call, or real life). Still, it was very sweet and aired on the lighter side of grief (if there is such a thing). I would recommend it to ages 15-17 as I feel it will hit home better than with an older audience.

It was ok. I think the author tried to make it an emotional read about grief but it turned out to be a flat, almost uninteresting love story narrated by a childish stubborn teenager.
Tiktok told me i'd cry but all emotion left me when she answered the phone for the 74620th time and asked again and again "is this really happening?", and then proceeding to have the same conversation. And this was 2/3 of the book and I COULDN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE.
Points for making the FMC's friends more interesting than the actual main character.
