Oh MY GOSH! SO many emotions. I'll write a full review after I process my feelings.

I think my mind has just been blown by a middle grade fantasy book. I’m genuinely so upset it took me so long to pick this one up. I’m in love with this world and the characters that Shannon Messenger has created. Everything about this book was absolutely incredible. I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did, but WOW. Keefe is one of my new favorite book guys. I cried when Alden had his mind broken. He was a comfort character for me, and it genuinely hurt so badly. I don’t dislike Fitz right now, but he’s definitely not who I’m rooting for Sophie to end up with. Also, I love Dex. I do. But Keefe for the win. I’m genuinely so proud of Sophie. She literally deserves the world. I’m so glad Grady and Edaline are finally somewhat happy again. They’ve got Sophie, and they’ve figured out the partial truth about Jolie’s death. I do hope we get more on that in the later books. Overall, I give it 4.75 stars. I’m not giving it 5/5 because of the emotional damage that was inflicted upon me during this book. However, I might read it again, but only for annotating purposes.
