I really enjoyed this book! I listened to it while driving this weekend, and the narrator was great as well! First off I have always liked reading books like this, Hunger Games, Cinder, City of Ember...they are interesting and quite fun to watch those who have lived either in a bubble or underground come out for the first time. The way the author describes the earth, the climate, the sun, it is fascinating! I liked following Martin on his journey, and even though at some points I felt like he acted younger than he should, he was a good hero to the story. I am still unsure how 'human' the kids really are considering I thought they were all bots of some sort. I am anxious to read the next book and see what happens to Martin, Cassie, and all the others!

I loved Dunkle's Hollow Kingdom and this didn't disappoint either. I enjoyed the world she created. The dystopia reminded me a little of the Giver or Obernewtyn. It is totally set up for a sequel which I look forward to reading. This was a nice, quick read that would also lead to some interesting discussion. Recommend.

This story seemed like a cross between "The Giver" and "Among the Hidden." Martin lives in domed suburb HM1 with his parents and his Wonder Baby sister, Cassie. When all the Wonder Babies are taken from HM1, Martin knows it is up to him to rescue her. He also has the coolest AI dog ever, who is very helpful in so many ways. I wish I had an AI dog.

I’ve been searching for this book for years and finally found it. I read it when I was a kid and apparently it left a lasting impression on me. I will reread it at some point…review to come later.

This was interesting. I grabbed it during one of my random grab bags of available now audiobooks in a genre. It skews a bit young due to the narrator while not completely ignoring some heavier themes. I'm curious to know more behind the various elements that caused the events in this book that weren't fully answered, and I hope the second book helps.

This is a solid book - I really enjoyed Martin's story. However, it is kind of an 'easy' read. The story does not have any unexpected depths. The fact that Clare Dunkle has been able to create a dystopian world and an exciting adventure for Martin without becoming overly deep and convoluted has to be applauded.

I have high hopes for the sequel.

I read the inside cover and was very excited; the actual book was something of a disappointment. This book could have been a lot better than it was. Good idea, just not executed in a good way.

This book was boring and lead up to a spectacularly boring conclusion. I hate even remembering how pointless the whole thing was.
