long winded and sad

This begins as religious,a heads up if that bothers you.

For someone who's had a sick kitty it has many descriptions of illness which could be a trigger. She kept calling the vet "doctor" then "vet" which was confusing.

Narration wasn't great ,she kept shouting. So descriptive you'll be told useless things like her getting her head caught in a jumper and what day that happened.🤦‍♀️

Very few moments that were nice with the kittens. No insight on how he managed to live a few months more before dying. Glad it was a free Plus catalogue title.

I am not much of a cat person, but I enjoyed listening to this short story of Homer. The author gave enough quick background to let me understand what was happening and the story itself was cute and inspirational. I liked the lessons the author drew from the situation.

Beautiful little book about a woman’s bond with her cat of 15 years....touching and will bring a tear to your eye. I just wish it was longer as I could read about Homer forever ❤️❤️

eARC from NetGalley and the publishers in exchange for an honest review, all thoughts are my own.
In no way can I fault this! I sped through this beauty, I could feel Gwen’s emotions so deep within her writing, her love for Homer Bear, and his siblings, and could picture all their kooky and adorable actions as Gwen described Homer gobbling down a chicken breast, to his playing with Clayton; to comforting Gwen when she was devastated about Homer’s prognosis, and so much more! It was just amazing having this slice of Gwen and Homer’s life, I couldn’t get enough!
It’s the perfect festive read, but, truly, it’s soul food! This is just such a gorgeous and uplifting and emotive read, perfect for all cat lovers or anyone who loves a quick but inpactful story!

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

In December 2012, Homer the blind cat is rushed to the vet after fainting. His liver test is 1500% higher than normal; the vet said Homer shouldn't even be alive right now and won't make it until Christmas. Homer had one more miracle in him, though.

This was a sweet short story. I've had Homer's Odyssey on my to read list forever; after reading this story, I'll have to move it up to the top of the list! Homer's personality really showed through in this story; I wish I could have met him.

This book is a very small memoir of Homer and his holiday miracle after he is given the prognosis of only two weeks left to live. The book is only fifty pages long so there is not as much depth into Homer's story, but it still gives the emotional feels. I think this book is a good introduction to Homer's life, I personally have never read anything about Homer, however, after reading this book I want to know more about this sightless cat.

The perfect Christmas story for cat lovers. It's moving and tender and makes you want to cuddle with your cat while you're reading it.
I love it and recommend it to any cat lover or people who want to read about a Christmas miracle.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC

A sweet and inspirational story about Homer, a special needs cat. Even though the ending is a little sad, the overall feeling of the story is happy and positive.
