I enjoyed this one better than the heroes graphic novel. As much as I love me some Padme content-- there is just something about the inner workings of a villain.

Maul's story kicked off this run, and from there it only got better. Boba, and his ultimate journey into being the DNA for the clone army. From the eloquent Dooku killing a Jedi. To grievous-- and his inner demons, and the force trying to right his path, only to have his thirst for power snuff out a temple, and then we get a special with Ventress. Probably my favorite, and most morally complicated character in my opinion. It was so nice seeing her in her bounty hunter role, and saving people.

I highly recommend.

Better than Age of Rebellion, I think, but still not stellar. I liked the Dooku and Ventress stories, Maul and Jango were also fine. Grievous... I mean, did I really need to see him "unmasked"? No, and certainly not like this. But overall, this was more interesting to me - perhaps because this era is less done to death than the Rebellion era. There is undoubtedly more to explore here, with these characters, which is why I've really enjoyed the recent Republic era novels (Master and Apprentice, Queen's Shadow, Dooku: Jedi Lost...).

This was such a great little take on the villains of this age.

I always find myself drawn back to The Clone Wars and the series and the prequels, so to have a set of graphic novels/comics themed around their villains and heroes is fantastic!

3.25/5
Seeing as we don't get much backstory of the villains in the Star Wars movies, I was excited to get a little glimpse into their personalities.

"Ash" - Darth Maul
3/5
Since we don't see a lot of Maul in Episode 1, it's nice to have to have this little story about him.
I didn't realize he appeared past The Phantom Menace!

"Training" - Jango Fett
4/5
I really enjoyed seeing Jango/Boba's relationship and them do a 'hunt' together.
This felt like a fully fleshed-out story, which is more than I can say for the others.

"The Cost" - Count Dooku
3.5/5
This showed more inner-workings of the Sith, which is a world we don't see from the movies.
I enjoyed this little glimpse.

"Burn" - General Grevious
2.75/5
I found this one too short.
And a little bit weird? Was it trying to show that Grevious had moral dilemmas?
I did enjoy the artwork in this one the most though.

SPECIAL: "Sisters" - Asajj Ventress
3/5
Asajj is not from the movies (or if she is, I don't remember her at all) so I didn't know her.
Hearing a bit of her backstory in this bind-up after the comic, the story made a lot more sense.

Spring 2020;

Age of the Republic: Jango Fett -- Hello, Boba. You are still adorable and angry. It's a potent combination. | Ooooh, it's when he's being sold on giving up his DNA. | Omg, all the baby clones fighting! | Hummna. Oh. Child.

Age of the Republic: Special -- #2 Ventress - Gosh, that Ahsoka panel is SO gorgeous and in need of people using. SISTER FEELINGS. (Iiii really need to get on with reading the books that have her background woven into them.)

This is a graphic novel with four short stories following prequel villains - Darth Maul, Count Dooku, General Grievous and Jango Fett. I found that this was enjoyable, but it didn't add much to the universe. It didn't change any of the characters to make it seem unlike them and everything that happened fit well, but I found that as such short stories, there wasn't much room for a phenomenal story. I still definitely liked it and I found that they stories had cool little snippets of story for the universe as a whole - but not much. My personal favorite was the Jango Fett story which had him training Boba which I found developed the relationship between the two characters that we don't see much of in the prequels. All in all I do recommend this to people to read because it was good, but you wouldn't be missing much if you didn't read it.

This was a great comic. I loved getting some behind the scenes of the main Star Wars Prequel villains. I especially loved getting child Boba Fett and, in an odd way, Hero Asajj Ventress. I LOVE Ventress, so I honestly think there needs to be more of her in the comics.
