Damn, I really enjoyed this. Order and chaos is a better explained version of The Force. It's premise is so simple, yet even at the end of the book, there clearly is more depth waiting to be explored. This also felt like a complete story, even though I know there's like 2 dozen more books.

The magic system was very intriguing, but the book could have been about 1/3 shorter had they removed all the written out sound effects and some of the more tedious internal dialogue of the MC. I almost stopped reading at a few points, but the world was very interesting.

It's enjoyable enough, though nothing groundbreaking. There were several moments that I felt he was referencing a past event that was edited out, which made it kind of confusing. Interesting enough to continue with the series. 3.5
