I have read this authors other books and thoroughly enjoyed them. This book was no different as I loved it too.

Bob Pendleton is a writer, he is also a traveller, and he writes about his travels but in the form of fiction. The main character in his books is Rick Kimberly, who gets himself "into non-life threatening situations, scrapes and trouble." The writer, in the story, uses not only his own experiences, but his imagination, and expands them to make his books more exciting.
Several of his books been made into movies and he has become something of a celebrity.

His latest book idea involves his character, Rick, going back to the town he was brought up in. Therefore Bob returns to his home town, and the long lost love he left behind.

During his visit Bob is brought back down to earth when his faults are pointed out to him by someone whose opinion he respects. He does make amends, however, after accepting he was in the wrong.

He visits his old school during his visit, and the inspiration for his character, Rick, comes to light during a chat with his old teacher.
He also reconnects with a long lost love, and lays a few ghosts to rest in the process.

By the end of the story Bob has gained new insight into the direction his future travels, and novels, should go. The ending most definitely leaves it open to future stories.

I love this author and his ability to write stories which raise questions, promise a lot more once they finish, and also his ability to write stories from different genres equally well. I look forward to seeing what he comes up with next.
