This one has a little too much setup and not enough mystery and Jewish theology and culture. On the plus side, it mostly takes place in Israel, so you get a bit of travel and Israeli culture. 3.5 stars.

It does feel very far fetched that the Rabbi would end up involved in such a mystery while in the Holy Land.

The rabbi Small books are good mysteries that give insights into conservative Judiasm.

It's been a while since I last read one of the Rabbi Small mysteries, but it was just as fun as I remembered them. Just the right kind of mystery to read when one wants to relax.
I really like Rabbi Small, with his no nonsense, practical and logical way of thinking.
