I received a cope for a fair and honest review
I love to read books on productivity, reducing stress, success, and happiness. .This book seemed to touch on them all in stories. Gentle reminders to try to find some joy in what we must do and if possible avoid what we don't. Reframing our thinking can change everything in our daily lives. This is nothing new and yet most of us don't use these techniques.
I found the burnout section to be the most inspiring. Gods the level of burnout I feel, the world feels is overwhelming. There are some very helpful tips here and some unrealistic ones for most of us.
Overall this is not a ground breaking new exploration in the field, but it was a nice cumulation of them in one place.
I did know this author before reading this book. I was surprised to learn he was a youtube personality. I may check out his channel.

A lot of resaying things I've heard from other books, but for someone else I think it packages many good ideas into one book

It is very useful to optimize productivity by making it fun. When something becomes play, we get better at it and productivity is no different. This book covered different ideas on how to find energy, get unblocked, and find sustained motivation by aiming to feel good. There are dozens of what are called "experiments" that can be tried to move ahead and be more productive.
The book concludes with the reminder that the most important takeaway from all this content is that this is a philosophy of finding the good feeling in trying to be more productive. It is an apt reminder because even though the techniques may not work in how you implement them, the outcome can still be achieved with an aim of feeling good about our work.

A friendly, positive self-help book that didn't say anything particularly new but delivered its message in an easy-to-read format. It represented the archetype of popular science for me: backing up claims with references to studies (although the skeptic in me is always wary of using one paper to make one strong point) and incorporating humorous or interesting anecdotes and stories to make the messages go down easier.
