I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I love zombie books. There are very few zombie books that I have read that I have not liked. I'm still not sure about this book. There are parts that I liked, and parts that I didn't like.

What I did like, was that the main character Sarah, was a horror fan, so she was already prepared for a zombie apocalypse. I like that. I've never read a zombie book where the main character (or any character for that matter) had their shit together like that and knew what to do. It was refreshing. And a nice touch.

It was a good start to the book, with the explanation of how the zombies started, but it went so fast after that. I don't think I've ever seen the virus move that quickly. A couple people in the hospital infected and than all of a sudden, zombies are popping up everywhere. Now, I'm pretty sure I know how it could be possible that they started in the streets, but it wasn't explained.

I started to get lost about halfway through the book. I wasn't really attached to most of the characters, I didn't really feel anything for them. I was starting to get really disappointed with the book. I thought that it was moving far to fast, with different characters in different areas that really didn't seem to be connected to each other. Towards the end, the action really started to pick up, but I still wasn't feeling it. I was worried that there wasn't going to be a good ending. I thought that it was going to be an open ending. And then I got to the end, I saw that there will be a sequel, so I'm happy to know that I will get some closure on the characters. I think that some of the character sequences could have waited until the next book. I felt that there were too many different character sequences and because of that, I wasn't connected to the characters.

I give this book 3.5 stars. I will read the next book.

I don't normally like zombie fiction, but I could barely put this book down. I wanted to get to the end to find out what happened, can't wait to read the next one!
