3.5 - I could swear I’ve read this book before...but I didn’t start reading romance until I was basically OCD about using Goodreads, and it wasn’t already on my shelf. Maybe it was one of the first ones I read. 🤷‍♀️ Who knows?

I did not like how the characters handled misunderstandings - I feel situations were blown out of proportion that shouldn’t have been, and situations that should have been -more- weren’t...if that makes sense.

It was a good read. It’s not my favorite Staci Hart book.

I just didn't feel a connection with main characters but kids were cute best part.

I love the authors use of beautiful words.
The story is one that could be put off as a “typical situation “
It’s made into something sweet, understandable and really very pretty.
Relatable in a sense and very Austen “esque” which I love!

"Sometimes, things would happen when nothing happened at all."

This was my first book by Staci and I'm pretty impressed. Staci has a wonderful way working with words. The story she tells is heartbreaking. To me it felt very real and raw, nothing fancy or over the top. The characters are all down to earth and easy to fall in love with.

A Little too Late is a story about working through hurt, betrayal, loss and finding a way back to love, trust, life.

"You don't have to be afraid." "I wasn't - until I had something to lose."

Sometimes, we find ourselves in a situation we couldn't do much to prevent it. You feel lost, you close up and you end up like a shell of your former self, struggling to stay on top of things life is throwing at you. And then fate brings an angel to you. I believe honestly, that there are people on earth who were sent by god just to show others hope and help them back to the light.

The pace of the story is slow but steady. We learn a lot about what hurt feels like and what betrayal can do to you. We learn how hard it is to fight yourself back to life. It's intense but every time Hannah is in the picture, you feel what Charlie is feeling, her pure presence in my mind made me smile.

Be prepared for a book that makes your heart ache, it breaks and mends it at the same time.

"I only want to make you happy. I only want to give you all of me - my heart, my life, my love. Will you let me?"

Staci, you created something pure and beautiful with this book. Thank you for that!

"And when I had filled her, when there was no space between us, skin to skin, heart to heart, I was whole. I was home."

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this beautiful book.

Charlie is a single dad (well almost) with two adorable kiddos. He is currently going through a divorce and his ex won’t sign the divorce papers. She won’t answer any emails or calls or anything that the lawyers have made. She is a real piece of work

I'm completely spent. A Little Too Late is yet another 5-star smash from Staci Hart. This unique take on the single dad storyline held me from the first page to the last, so much so that I seemed to fall into the pages and live inside them instead of in actual reality. I LOVE when a book can do that, can rip you from your own life and thrust you into another one entirely. Hart's writing in this is... just... unexplainably poignant. It's soft and beautiful, each chapter like a song written for the heart, this book like an album I want to listen to on repeat forever.

Charlie is hauntingly broken, and Hannah brings him back to life one tender moment at a time. She is everything I love in a heroine, strong and humble, kind and giving. And Charlie is the perfect Hero to balance her. The way they fall for each other, the tenderness, the forbidden feelings they fight only to give in because there's not other choice -- physically, emotionally -- they're just meant for each other. They can't fight it, and it's that feeling I love most in a romance novel, that hard fall into waiting arms. Add in the hilarious and well-written side characters (like Oma, the kids, and Hannah's best friend), and you've just got this incredibly unique book that you CAN'T put down -- especially with villains like Mary and Quinton.

What I loved most about this book was the culture woven into every page. Hannah is from the Netherlands, and she brings her life and culture to the city, fusing it with Charlie and his family's own. It's amazing, the way they learn from each other, the soft and tender moments they have and the humorous ones, too. Like I said, every page of this book is just so RICH. It's like sitting down to eat one of those delectable pastries Hannah loves to bake, and I devoured every morsel, every crumb, and still wanted more.

If you loved A Thousand Letters, you will adore this story, too. The writing is lyrical and poignant, the romance so beautifully described, you'll feel like you're reading a modern day fairy tale set in New York City. It's a PERFECT fall read, one full of emotion and incredible scenery, with a poetic story of love, loss, and rebirth. An absolute MUST READ for 2017!

So for those of you that will scratch your heads trying to remember, Elliot was Mary's sister and the female lead in A Thousand Words. If you haven't read it, you absolutely should. I can't even tell you how much other than to say Staci Hart will destroy your heart in the best of ways. Those that have read it, know exactly what I mean.

It took me a few minutes and a glimpse at my review of Thousand to remember but when the lightbulb light, I was good to go.

A Little Too Late is everything you expect from Staci Hart. It is emotional, sweet, and has you begging for more while hoping for less hurt. Be ready for a case of the feels...

Innocent beauty, harsh reminders, and reality are not the best mx. However, berries, lemon, and cheese appears to be a big seller. With my dreams of visiting this kind of bakery, i can only hope its on the same block as Wasted Words.

I cannot tell you enough how much I loved this book, the outcome, and the high I had once I finished it.

It's worth every penny even if you think it's...a Little Too Late. sigh, just sigh.
