A fun end to this trilogy. It wrapped everything up and I liked the conclusion of the story. I’m glad I stumbled upon this little series and have had fun reading it.

Amé este libro... Pero la puntuación es 4.5/5 (y al final verán porqué)
Después de la terrible lectura que fue [b:The Prophet of Yonwood|207034|The Prophet of Yonwood (Book of Ember, #3)|Jeanne DuPrau|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1320636285s/207034.jpg|969] (totalmente ignorable... En serio, pueden saltarlo) regresamos a la fascinante aventura y tensión que tuvimos en los dos primeros libros.
Y más importante aun: ¡Regresan Lina y Doon!
El dio dinámico esta de vuelta, listos para salvar el pueblo de Sparks y a sus habitantes de las desgracias del invierno.
Nueve meses después de los sucesos de "The People of Sparks" las cosas no pintan bien para el pueblo. El invierno ha sido duro, la comida escasa y la gente se ha enfermado. Pero pronto Lina y Doon consiguen un libro que fue dejado por los constructores para los habitantes de Ember con instrucciones... Asi que deciden regresar a Ember.
Al llegar a la ciudad, esta no resulta estar tan deshabitada como ellos pensaban y Doon es atrapado por la familia que ahora habita Ember: Los Troggs. Un grupo de gente desagradable cuyo patriarca se cree un erudito en todas las cosas y realmente entiendo la rabia del pobre Doon al tener que tratar con ellos.
Lina tiene que regresar a Sparks a conseguir ayuda para sacar a Doon del aprieto donde esta metido. Sin embargo, al final Doon logra salir por su cuenta y junto con Lina descubre cientos de dispositivos dejados por los constructores, aunque aun no saben para que sirven.
Tras regresar a Sparks, se organiza un regreso a Ember para buscar cosas que puedan ser de provecho... Con la salida tan apresurada de sus habitantes, quedo comida, vestimentas y otros objetos que ayudan a los habitantes de Sparks (incluyendo los emberitas) a sobrevivir lo que resta del invierno y empezar un mejor futuro tras descubrir lo que estos artefactos con forma de diamante pueden hacer: Tomar la luz del sol y convertirla en electricidad.
Este libro me gusto mucho. Lo lei en una tarde y fue un soplo de brisa refrescante después del trago amargo del libro anterior. El libro tiene todo lo que me gusto de sus predecesores: Acción, suspenso, villanos que odiar y al mejor duo dinámico como protagonistas.
Al final vemos un pedazo de lo que será el futuro de Lina y Doon y muchos años después de ellos. Las mejores noticias: ¡Mi ship es canon! ¡Hell yeah!
Ademas sabia que había algo entre el papá de Doon y la Sra. Murdo.
Fue un gran final...
Excepto por esos últimos párrafos donde Jeanne DuPrau decidió meter extraterrestres en la historia. ¿Aliens? ¿Es en serio? Ugh. No soy fanática de las historias con aliens, y menos aun me gusta cuando deciden incluirlos de forma totalmente innecesaria en un historia que funcionaba perfectamente bien si ellos. De verdad que arruina el final.
Por eso el 4.5 de 5.
Pero el libro es excelente y la serie (menos obviamente el tercero) es maravillosa.

A great finish to the Book of Ember series. I love that the people of Sparks welcomed the Trog family into their city and helped them learn to care and feed themselves. I was glad to see how much of Ember was salvaged and used to save the people of Sparks during their hard winter.

The very worst thing about this book is that there isn’t more information in the epilogue. :-(
The very best thing about this book is the return to Ember, of course. I enjoyed the imagery and idea of Ember and to return to the city, even in less than desirable circumstances, was a real treat for me.

Nothing can beat book 1! This was okay. satisfying conclusion to the series.

The final book in DuPau's series about the inhabitants of the city of Ember provides a satisfying resolution and even manages to connect the seemingly inconsequential The Prophet of Yonwood, although still in a rather tangential way. Winter has come to Sparks and the people of both Ember and Sparks are on the verge of starvation. Yet again, Lina and Doon appear to have stumbled across a clue to the solution, but it will require sharp thinking and courage to uncover the truth.
This was much more like The City of Ember with plenty of adventure and Lina and Doon the solving another puzzle. At the same time, though, I felt like this book was a lot longer than it needed to be. The end just sort of rambled on for several more chapters, and while I liked the way she managed to tie up all those loose ends, I feel like there must have been a snappier way to do it.

It was everything a final book should be. There were answers and everything was tied up nicely but you were sad to read the last page.
