I got an ARC in return for an honest review on NetGalley.

I am not usually a fan of suspense or thriller novels, I find them boring. They drag on and on trying to set a mood that always falls flat for me. I asked for this book because it seemed more like a horror novel than a thriller. I was wrong, but I still enjoyed the book.

A lot of reviews are saying how they couldn’t guess the end and how the twists kept coming, I cam’t agree. I figured out the ending pretty early on. Did that ruin the story? No. There were enough twists that even when I knew who the players were and their motivations, I didn’t quite know what was going to happen. The ending itself was interesting, but I found it hard to be fulfilled by it because of my view of Corinne.

Corinne was one of the main characters and often the narrator of the story. She was over dramatic, quick to panic, and had no way of surviving on her own. She completely relied on her boyfriend to do the simplest of tasks, it was a miracle that her job didn’t fire her for just not showing up randomly and with no notice.

Ashley’s character was much more enjoyable to me. The plot with her daughter went in a way I never really imagined. That was pretty awesome. If Corinne wasn’t a part of this novel then the book would have quite possibly been a five star book. Corinne was such a weak willed character that she seemed too much like a damsel in distress that could only exist if she was babysat the whole time. Perfect victim, but annoying as hell to read. What is it about thrillers and horror media that says that the main female character has to be helpless?

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I liked this. This was a quick and easy read that only took me a couple of days reading an hour here and an hour there.

I think I'm falling into a rut with all these psychological thrillers I've been reading lately. They are all starting to blend together and it's starting to drive me nuts. I would like to say this book was clever, but it's just like all the other ones I've read.

That doesn't make it bad though, I really couldn't put this down. I think my negative thoughts on this are my own fault - I need to switch up my genre a little bit.

I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a fast-paced read. It had a good story line and a creepy undertone to the story.

Thanks again to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy. :)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Captivating, intriguing, a real page-turner! Absolutely loved it!!!

This book wasn't great.
I actually was 16 mins from finishing and couldn't be bothered.
I saw the ending coming, there was no big twist as promised.
It was just a waste of 12hrs.
I do not recommend.

This is a good story but I guessed very early on how the story would end.

Found this book through Bookstagram and I'm glad I added it to my reading list. It hooked me from the start as you have different POV's but there's also a mystery narrator reminiscing about the past and you have no idea who it is.

We start the book by following Corrine and her longtime partner who are struggling to conceive and have turned to IVF. Meanwhile her sister Ashley has already a picture perfect family, with three kids and a loving husband.

Both girls are dealing with their own struggles in life, but also with the death of their father, now almost a year ago.
When pieces of their childhood dollhouse start showing up at Corrine's doorstep, she instantly knows there's something strange going on.

The story has some predictable outcomes, but still manages to surprise you right up untill the very end where everything gets dark and twisted real fast. It had me at the edge of my seat, not wanting to take a break from those last pages. Even at the very last sentence, you're still left with a "wtf?!" at the tip of your tongue.

I loved it and I will be checking out some of her other books!
