Tbh I picked this book up because I read speculation that Taylor Swift ghost wrote this. I didn't believe it but thought it must be good enough to be associated with Swift. After having read this book now, I just don't see it. So I'm feeling let down by that.

I have no idea how they did it but they made being a spy boring...

The writing was easy to follow and clear but loooooord was it dull. There were so many times the writing became repetitive almost for the sake of filling pages.

This would have been better as a novella than a novel.

And it was so incredibly predictable..

Honestly so disappointed.

Incredibly and enjoyably plot driven. An action mystery a lá James Bond, where you struggled to guess the twist right up to the end. The plot was interesting and well written/researched, and kept you with the book to the end. Argylle was an interesting character but you learned about him incidentally as the story continues rather than any real diving into introspection. The same was true of the other characters, and some felt flat as there was little time devoted to them. I would still read a series about his life as he becomes a CIA operative though….
