At the beginning of the book, Felix was making assumptions and jumping to conclusions and I didn't think I was going to like it as much as I ended up liking it. Although bad things happen and people are assholes, most of these people were actually really good people. The whole story was just so optimistic and validating and affirming, it made me feel very happy for Felix and for all the teens who will read this and see themselves in Felix. And oh, I just love Ezra so so much. He is THE very best friend ever.

Trans queer main character and queer love interest. Queer side characters present all throughout the story.
Wow. This book has absolutely blown me away. I genuinely can not find the words to describe how much I loved reading Felix’ story. It pulled me in, it made me feel all kinds of ways but most of all, the love that I felt was so overwhelming. I couldn’t put it down.
I hope that more people decide to pick up Felix Ever After and experience the love and warmth that I got from it.

Also, representation matters SO much!!!

So, I really wanted to like this. However, I have a hard time finishing books that are high school centered, and the MC is just annoying. I only got about 10% into it, and I had to DNF sadly.

I loved this book. It is such a powerful story about self discovery and acceptance, no matter your identity. The plot is fantastic and is equal parts emotional and suspenseful, with twists that suck you in.

This was a very entertaining and sweet read. Very YA in writing style, characters, and themes, but done in such a way that I still enjoyed reading it as an adult. I really empathized with the characters and was drawn in to their really poorly planned high school revenge schemes and romances. A really excellent book for diverse representation, even more than I realized going into it - Felix is trans, but is questioning if "boy" is the right label for him. Although I have not experienced this type of identity crisis myself, I was really convinced by the descriptions of Felix's questioning, his sometimes conflicting security and insecurity with his own body, the tension between how he viewed himself and how others viewed him (or how he thought others viewed him), and the pressures put on him by the straight/cis/white/male and queer/trans/POC/female presences in his life. There were a few times I had to suspend my disbelief and there were some tropes that aren't my favorite to read ("finding yourself through art"), but overall a solid, fun, thoughtful YA novel.

I couldn't put this one down! It's a beautiful story of self-love, platonic-love, familial-love, romantic-love, self-acceptance, evolving identities, and so much more.

***Minor spoiler***
My one complaint is that the ending may have been too happy - but that's more of a reflection on me hahahaha
