A rather lengthy experience (some 23 hours of audiobook) that is both fascinating and entertaining - as historical fiction should be.
This work provides an emotional portrait of Eliza Hamilton throughout her long- lived life - which was more interesting given that so little exists in primary sources about her, to include her own writings.
Well worth the time to understand a woman that seemingly was before her time.

See? Dirty politics are not new, that’s been going on since the dawn of time. Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton would be one of my five famous persons to have at my dinner table.

I loved this book! I think from history class we imagine the Founding Fathers as brothers all working together and getting along. The amount of politics and back stabbing that took place at the founding of our nation gives us a clearer perspective of politics today!

Really enjoyed this book. It was well written, and I liked that it was from Eliza's perspective. I liked the author's notes at the end about how they researched Eliza's life and made up the fictional aspects of the book to fill out the story based on their research and what might have happened. I would suggest this read for anyone who is a fan of Hamilton, the musical.

Loved it! A look at the founding of America in the most inter-personal of levels. It stands as a story all on its own with love, war, and political intrigue. But the ability to look at the beginning of America from the perspective of men who sat around kitchen tables or drank cold coffee or played with each other's kids - it’s hard to think of history more presented any more personally.

The authors are coming to visit our school in September. It will be hard to let the kids ask the questions. I could ask a thousand and not be done. Most of them about research and writers' craft.

A good historical novel but a slow trod at parts. Enjoyed the development of Eliza through the years. Glad I did this one as an audiobook.
