It felt like a long preamble to a story that is going to start. It was all about how a girl from a place gets to know the working of another place. I hope to see some action begin in the next book.

Honestly at different points every character was infuriating. The story is quite captivating, though, and made me want to continue reading. I will definitely be continuing the series to see where Ophelia and Thorn end up, but it’s not my favorite of all time.

I've read this book in two days because well, I couldn't put it down. Good thing I've bought the saga collector set. Now I can read the rest and I cannot wait to know what's up next!

There's not a whole lot of action in this book. There's definitely a lot more character development going on than plot or world building. However, I really enjoyed the characters and their growth, and I loved the atmosphere of this story. There's a certain feel to it that had me reading for hours on end. I'm hoping for some more action and world building in book two, but I'm excited to see where this story goes!

I didn't really like the main character and felt like she wasn't independent enough.

I'll probably pick it up later but it's not really my type of book.

I'm intrigued by this book, just feeling a little slumpy. I'll come back to it in time

3.5 ⭐️ The characters are vivid and without normal stereotypes for the genre which is quite refreshing! It can be long winded but is clearly written.
