Bloody loved it. Felt like a mix between Cold Comfort Farm and an Agatha Christie. Light-hearted and amusing with undertones of something nasty happening. Really an excellent book. 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this neat little thriller which focuses on three sisters coping with the spectre of the titular Uncle Paul looming from their shared past.  Set at the British seaside, this novel has the feel of a golden age mystery and the finale was truly exciting.

I won't bash it if this flavour of mystery/thriller is your thing. If you like Agathe Christie style stuff you'll probably have a better time with it that i did.

It just wasn't for me personally. It went so slowly for the very little that happened in such a small set of locations, and the characters are a bit mid, I guess I prefer my mc to be a bit more unhinged.

I'm glad this was a library loan.
