A cute story. Takes place in less than a week, 2 couples fall in love in less than 24 hrs!
Listened on audiobook. Don't think I appreciated much the author narrating this.
Best scene ever- Darcy's being shocked when he comes across Mrs. Gardiner during a dance.

An angst free novella.
Aunt Gardiner knows about Wickham and reigns in Elizabeth before she goes too far along to adore Wickham and hate Darcy. Lydia was unbelievable.

In this P&P variation, a letter from Elizabeth to Mrs Gardiner which mentioned the likeable Wickham results in her rushing to Longbourn to tell her story, and her connection to the Darcys.
An enjoyable and well-written story.
As this a novella events do proceed at quite a lively pace. I admit I would have preferred a longer story to have more of the Mary Bennet storyline

I picked up this Pride and Prejudice variation because Mrs Gardiner was one of my favourite characters in P&P as we saw the contrast between her and Mrs Bennet and her and Catherine De Bourgh. In this book, Lizzie writes to her aunt about Darcy and Wickham, only to find out her aunt is already well acquainted with both men. She comes down to protect her nieces from Wickham and the story kicks off from there.
There were many parts I enjoyed in this book. Wickham being dealt with, Darcy helping Lizzie with Mr Collins and Mrs Gardiner helping Darcy to reconcile what he believed and how he acted, as well as helping her niece to think things through. However, I found that Mrs Gardiner was a little out of touch with the character I remembered from P&P and it felt a little jarring.
3.5 stars!

This story should be called Mrs. Gardiner Fixes Everything. It's a piece of fluff, full of far too many convenient conversations and pieces of information, and very little conflict. Still, it was a fun piece of fluff that did not take long to read, so I don't have any real complaints.
