Lordy lordy this one is boring!!! I kind of appreciate that Robert Jordan keeps it real in terms of time. Things take a long time! But it’s also boring to read.

Okay, I get the "slog." The last book was altogether a slow book that focused on the least interesting plot points that Robert Jordan has weaved together, but a very strong ending and some advancement in the "romance" story of the series somewhat redeemed it, but then this book came along and took over 10 chapters to actually capitalize on the pivotal conclusion of the last one. This one truly had very little plot advancement, and although I've been forgiving of the slow pace of these last few books as suspense building, this was a real struggle to get through. I'm excited to get to the return to form that has been advertised.
