quite challenging to read because of the writing style but very informative. it's technically fiction but feels almost like reading historical text. the last chapter made me cry cause i was invested in that side character

I read A Strange Manuscript... by this author and found it quite fun (with a few significant caveats). Based on that I thought this might be a scifi adventure set in the Roman Empire but I quickly realized that this book is historical fiction with a focus on religion.

I loved this book so much when I was younger. It's old in style and story but it always made me cry. I need to read it again someday. *sniffles*

Absolutely loved this book. Written by an anonymous author many, many years ago. I believe that it is likely that these scenes will again be seen around the world as people persecute Christians more and more. Every adult and young person will enjoy this!

This was full of Scripture and challenged my heart!

This and [b: Heidi|93|Heidi|Johanna Spyri|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1388462714s/93.jpg|1738595] are basically the only books from elementary and high school I remember. I thought most of the assigned novels were too religious, even for the Christian course it was; but this dealt with early Roman Catholics, so I could relate more, having been a practicing Catholic at the time.
