Reread,

needed to go back to this awesome family, and yes I still loved it as much as the first go around. I will hold off reading the rest of the series till the end of the week since I know what will happen and my reactions can’t happen at work! Haha

5 Pinecone and Candy cane, Epic and Awesome Stars

Can I just say I went into this hesitant because this was a hyped book and I always go in with high expectations, and am always let down. BUT!! This book was everything. I just finished [b:The Lightning-Struck Heart|24468673|The Lightning-Struck Heart (Tales From Verania, #1)|T.J. This book hit me right in the heart and I wasn't expecting it. Ox and Joe, man oh man, they had a rough road to get to where they ended up and I am just glad I could be able to witness to it.

Just perfection. I do still love TLSH more, but that is just cause of the whole audiobook experience. Cannot wait for [b:Ravensong|35114241|Ravensong (Green Creek, #2)|T.J. Klune|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1530449892l/35114241._SX50_.jpg|56425855]!!

uhhhhh AKDBWKWMSBSHE this was just not for me holy. idk I had read in the lives of puppets and it wasn’t my favorite thing ever but it was decent?? so when I saw it was the same author I was excited to give this a read but this was just..no. the underage love interest thing was REALLY weird and the writing was just a tad corny. :(

4/5

I feel like I was too harsh on this book when I first reviewed it. The fact alone that I felt the need to read this book again declares how much I had enjoyed it the first time around.
I had been wanting to reread this book for a while now and this time I am definitely savouring it more than the first time, cause that was a binge mess. I mean, I had read it in two days, I probably didn't remember half the plot and the characters by the end. But this time i managed to focus on all the relationships between the characters and the small gestures and things that I overlooked in my binge.

Man, I had forgotten how much I liked the bromance between Ox and Carter. I honestly liked it more than Ox and Joe lol. I loved their interactions and their banter, and I loved that Carter was Ox's first male kiss lol. Carter and Kelly have always been my favorits and I hadn't realized I had missed them so much. And Robbie, don't even get me started on Robbie. He is my baby and I can't wait to read more about him!

I'm still of the same opinion for the epilogue though. Was it really necessary? The story felt complete with the ending of the last chapter, and the epilogue felt like it was just fan service and a bit too much in my opinion.

Let me start by the ending by saying, was the epilogue really necessary?
Seriously, I was so happy with the ending before the epilogue, and that definitely made me drop half a star from the rating. Sorry, not sorry.
I enjoyed reading this book, I liked the plot because it's not your ordinary boy-meets-boy story, but I think it was way too fast paced to be just one book. I feel that of the pace was slowed down a bit, if some relationships we're explained further, or if some years were cut off, I would have definitely enjoyed it more. But there are also a few things about the writing style that I liked a lot, like the wolf's perspective and how accurate I found it to be. Throughout the story, we have Ox explaining how wolves think in black and white, how everything is more primal and they don't live in shades. And when, at the very end, we have this first-person POV fwith Ox, I found the way he's thoughts were narrated to be very fitting with the way those sensations were described up till that point.
I can't say that were many unexpected things, as the plot was pretty much linear, but I enjoyed the book and I will definitely read the sequel, especially because it centers in Gordo and, hopefully, on Mark, and I can't wait to learn more about them!
