As an agnostic, i'm not willing to say for certain that there is life outside of our physical existence here. However, I consider the ideas presented in this book as some of the most believable ones I've ever encountered. The religious tradition I was raised in taught that everyone was required to meet an incredibly high standard in one lifetime and that few would ever reach this standard. To me, this always seemed so unfair and discongruous with the idea of a loving God. The idea that each person has specific spiritual guides suited to them personally, that they will have many lifetimes to learn the lessons they need to, and that we are all on different levels learning different things right now, makes so much more sense. It is far more believable considering the conditions and different people in this world.
While I'm not willing to say conclusively that Newton's discoveries and conclusions are the final word on the spirit world, I am willing to say that I accept their plausibility over any other I have ever encountered. Reading this book was therapeutic in that it offered other ideas of what might be expected on the other side that didn't require me to meet expectations that are beyond my capabilities right now. I feel more capable of accepting my life as is and simply doing the best I can. I also feel able to allow others to do the same without judgment from me. Whether the book is full of truth or not, I think the ideas are worth consideration by all who have any interest in the subject.

Cuando me adentré en este libro pensaba leerlo desde el escepticismo, pero con la mente abierta a introducirme a cualquier historia, ya sea ficticia o real, que me contaran acá, pero creo que tengo límites pa aceptar chamullos, y para mí, a medida que avanzaba con la lectura, sentía que se hacía cada vez más evidente que estaba leyendo las creencias que el autor tenía sobre la vida más alla de la muerte y no un relato objetivo de los "pacientes" entrevistados en su consulta.
Puesto que no estoy de acuerdo con la forma de pensar del autor, es que su interpretación de cómo funcionan las cosas en el más allá, no me agradó, ni como realidad ni como ficción.

The author was an expert in his field, and I don't want to discount that, but this was a painfully slow read and really boring. Not only that, but it's difficult to take some of the contents seriously. The nature of the topic is already out of this world, but the author's writing style makes it a difficult read instead of an interesting one.
