No spoilers! With a very strong FMC, and a lovely plot completely based on vampires, the setting is dark and mystical and was a really interesting read. However, I would not say it was ground breaking. It is increasingly hard to create a book that revolves around vampires without it being cringey, and I have to say that Holly handled it very well! I wasn't particularly enamoured with any of the characters though, I had no spark or major connection with any of the cast. The whole idea of coldtowns was just so interesting to me though, and although it's been a while since I read, I can whole heartedly say that I reccomend you give it a try.

I forgave a lot of the bad decisions in the first couple of chapter, but the catalyst of going to Cold Town just completely turned me off of the book. At that point they were letting people get attacked and forgiving. That on top of the large random dumps of information in weird places, and I decided I didn't want to finish this.
